Where to stay in Timișoara, depending on what you're looking for

Timișoara reads differently depending on where you stay. The old town, Giroc, Braytim, and Torontalului are not interchangeable — each has a rhythm, a distance from the city, and a type of stay that suits it.

The guide below helps you choose the area before the apartment. The Visaj collection covers all these neighbourhoods, to the same standard of hospitality.

The old town, for a first encounter with the city

If this is your first visit to Timișoara or you want everything within a few steps, the old town is the obvious choice. Union Square, Victory Square, and the Bega quays are within walking distance.

Visaj Downtown fits here — Emmer Palace, on Union Square. City breaks, special occasions, meetings in town. If your schedule is at Iulius Town or in Giroc, the centre is not the best base.

Giroc and Braytim, for quiet

Giroc is a residential commune south of Timișoara. It suits families, longer stays, and those coming for sports competitions.

Visaj Homes is in Braytim — a neighbourhood of houses, near Dumbrăvița. Space, garden, a rhythm of home. Visaj Metropolitan is also in Giroc, on a four-lane road: a new building, close to Dyadora Sports Club and Trio Events. Visaj Residence is also in Giroc, in a calm area, a short drive to the centre of Timișoara — the usual choice for delegates, relocations, and stays of weeks.

The three locations are not in the same neighbourhood. Homes is Braytim; Metropolitan and Residence are in other parts of Giroc. Choose by distance from the competition or how quiet you want the evening.

Torontalului, the northern area

For Iulius Town, offices, and the northern area, the right accommodation is in Torontalului — not the centre and not Giroc.

Visaj Nova is the usual choice for business and short stays, on Petru Vintilă. Visaj Escape and Visaj Romantic & SPA are on Mihail Halici: Escape for families and weekends, Romantic & SPA an apartment for two, with a private jacuzzi.
